Atlas Reversal (AR) Event

The prophesized Mayan dooms day on December 21, 2012 that many touted as complete nonsense was in fact completely true. Numerous disasters and climatic changes were only the prelude to this massive cataclysm. During this fateful day, the planet’s geomagnetic poles abruptly reversed, disturbing every aspect of nature worldwide. The ensuing tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and storms pushed humanity to the brink. The waters consumed nigh 80% of the Earth’s surface. Lost is Japan, Ireland, Scotland, the United Kingdom, the eastern and western shores of the US, and many more. The momentary lull in the protective cover that is our magnetic field let in more cosmic radiation, therefore increasing the mutant population. As humanity rose from the destruction and turmoil it only consisted of near 3 billion lives. So many heroes and even villains died trying to save what they could but as with all disasters new ones rose as old ones fell. The upheaval has destabilized the economy, politics, and social structure of every nation, allowing new powers to come forth and assert control. With nothing left to do but build humanity has been spurred to rebuild anew. Despite this apocalypse we have pushed the boundaries of science and technology further than it has ever progressed in years.
